Remedial Massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Remedial Massage treatments provided at our clinic combine the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern remedial massage techniques. Shiatsu therapy techniques emphasise stretch and pressure along meridian (energy) pathways of the body which correspond to the various organ systems of the body. By employing techniques which tonify deficient pathways and ones which sedate pathways with excessive energy the massage allows these organ systems to harmonise their function and therefore the body and mind to rebalance and promote health on all levels. Combined with western remedial techniques that seek to rebalance the body biomechanically and remediate specific soft tissue dysfunction the massage is able to provide relief from a variety of common complaints including headaches, insomnia, neck and back pain, lethargy, muscle strain and mental stress.

What is Ka Huna Lomi Lomi?

'Lomi Lomi' means 'to rub or to knead' in the Hawaiian (Polynesian) language and Ka Huna means 'the secret or the spiritual'. Ka Huna Lomi Lomi is a beautiful form of body work which is energetically vibrant yet deeply relaxing. It is a full body oil based massage in which the practitioner uses hands and forearms in long fluid strokes of varying intensity and rhythm up, down and around the body. The massage has a unique flowing style, which is deep tissue in nature, working to nurture the body as well as to release tension and relieve strain. Ka Huna Lomi Lomi also balances the mind emotionally thereby providing a safe space for you to empower yourself to deal effectively with life's challenges. It is ideal for rejuvenating and relaxing both body and mind affected by the stressful demands of life.
