    Food Therapy

Chinese Medicine has always understood that the foods we eat are potent medicines. Food is just like any other medicine, if you eat the wrong type of food for your constitution, you can become very unwell as your body struggles to find harmony. The Chinese Medicine approach to Food Therapy recognises that there are no "one size fits all" approaches to anything, especially when it comes to the medicine that we take 3 times each day: our food.

Experienced Chinese Medicine Practitioner Clare Pyers will guide you through the fundamentals of Chinese Medicine Food Therapy so that you can know how to increase your health and vitality by choosing the right foods for you, and know how to treat common conditions with food.

    This course covers the following:

    • Basics of Chinese Medicine Theory
    • Constitutional Analysis
    • Food Therapy Principles
    • Energetics of Food
    • Recipes to treat common conditions
    • How to create your own healing recipes

    In this workshop, you will:

    • Gain a fundamental knowledge of Chinese Medicine Food Therapy.
    • Learn how to discover the foods that are best suited to you, and will augment your health.
    • Get some great recipes and food cures for every-day diseases such as heat stroke, dry cough, fluid retention and urinary disorders

Each Session runs for 2 hours. Cost is $50 per person.

    Traditional Medicated Liqueurs

Chinese Medicine has a long tradition of using herb-infused wines and liqueurs as part of a winter treatment protocol. Winter is seen as the best time of year to nourish and strengthen the body, so many tonic herbs and herbal formulas are prescribed during this time. Infusing the herbal properties into alcohol not only helps to preserve the herbal medicines themselves, but helps the active constituents to be absorbed more quickly and effectively into the bloodstream. A small amount of the liqueur is taken each day during the colder months to prepare the body for the coming spring and summer activity.
    - Learn which herbs can be safely taken for boosting vitality and strengthening your body.
    - Gain an understanding of the energetics of each recipe and learn how and when you would use each one.
    - Demonstration of how to create your own herbal liqueur using commonly found ingredients.
    - A herbal combination of your choice to take home and try for yourself.

Each Session runs for 2 hours. Cost is $60 per person.
